.Q:
How to make sure that all data is posted in an SQL server 2012 view?
In the following code I create a view and take some data from table1 which is later used by a stored procedure that updates table2. The problem is, that when the update procedure is ran, the last column of table1 is not updated. I debugged it and the last column is not posted. I think that it is because I haven't initialized that table1 column. But how should I initialize it in order that it is posted in the view?
CREATE VIEW [dbo].[TestView]
AS
SELECT table1.ID, table1.Company, table1.Contact, table1.Question, table1.Deadline
FROM table1
JOIN table2 ON table1.ID = table2.ID
A:
In the view you can specify columns as it is a source for the join. If you omit the fields, then it will be null and they will be not posted.
create view v_TestView
as
SELECT t1.id, t1.Company, t1.Contact, t1.Question, t1.Deadline
FROM table1 as t1
join table2 as t2 on t1.id = t2.id
Inhibitory effect of N(alpha)-(2-chloroethyl)-N(5)-(4-pyridyl)-L-cytosine on DNA biosynthesis and its underlying mechanisms in mammalian cells.
The inhibitory effect of N(alpha)-(2-chloroethyl)-N(5)-(4-pyridyl)-L-cytosine (CCl) on DNA biosynthesis was examined in both cultured mammalian cells and tissues and in vitro using its base incorporation inhibition assay. The inhibitory effect of CCl on DNA biosynthesis in both HeLa S3 and Chinese hamster ovary cells (CHO-K1) was clearly dose-dependent and the inhibition was irreversible 01e38acffe
